Allergies with skin itching as result?

Two weeks ago the itching started. All over, arms, legs, face, scalp. No rash no redness no nothing. I took a Benadryl and the itching stopped. Today I waited to take a Claritin to see if I would start to itch. I itched for 2 hours, took the Claritin and the itching has mostly stopped. Is this something that I should see a Dermatologist for or an Allergist? This is completely new to me. I usually get stuffy and running nose, sneezing when allergy season rolls around.
