How to convince my father to take us somewhere for the summer?

My dad and i were always very close but when it came to going somewhere for vacation he would never take me and my brother anywhere. Work always came first to thing and he only wanted to make his coworker and boss happy. he is the type to freak idf he misses a day of work because he fears we will become bankrupt. i appreciate everything he does for me and my family but i dont think its fair i mean this year i wanted just to explore houston which is were we live but no nothing. whats ironic is that he works for the city of houston. my mother dosent i know these places i want to visit and i dont know of anyone else who could take me. so please what can i do?
