I have a question about an IV medication for school are there any doctors out there that can help me?

I am in nursing school and had a question on a test that I want to know if I was right in any way because it's going to make a big difference in my grade. The question is, " What medication would you give to a patient that is status epilepticus?" and my choices were IV Diazepam (Valium) or IV Phenobarbital? I put the phenobarbital because I knew it was a seizure medication but was told Valium is the correct answer..and I understand the reason that it's right now but I want to know if phenobarbital can ever be given IV for a patient that is status epilepticus? PLEASE help it is going to make a huge difference on me being able to move on in this program or not.
