Should I leave a job even if I don't have one before hand?

so I basically don't like my job...everyone there treats u like trash, even my coworker. I'm tired and want to move on to something differen't. Been working there for 3 yrs. I also have some appilcations to work on for buisness programs i want to get into that will take a while for me to work on if i don't get out of this job that I am in.....Does it look bad if I don't work at all for 3 weeks while i get school applications within the deadline, look for job, and focus on scholarships too?
