It's alright to go out with him if you want to. If you do, just continue to chat with him, especially some points about yourselves and interests. This will help both of you boost some confidence, and let you know each other a bit more. If you're comfortable around him, continue to know him more. You can share some ideas and experiences as well, but I'm not saying you can trust him directly (no, not yet). Just be yourself and stay calm. And one more thing, have fun... both of you.
